LIGNOVISION™ automatically detects the tree rings of softwoods and some deciduous/foliage trees, thus it takes care of a great portion of your routine work for you, and saves a lot of time. In addition to the width of the tree rings, early wood and autumn wood are also automatically detected. Most high-resolution scanners or distortion-free digital photographs can be used for data recording.

Where automatic tree ring detection is no longer possible, the tree ring limits can be manually defined, or errors can be edited in an interactive process. Even density variables can be recorded based on X-ray pictures once the gray levels have been calibrated. LIGNOVISION™ stores the data in the TSAP-Win™ format. You can start analyzing your material immediately. In addition to the measured data, surface scans including the measured traces can be stored.
